Who We Are

My name is Cristal and my husband is Andy.  We have 3 teenagers Chelsea, Andrew and Kirsten.  Andy is currently deployed to the UAE with the Air Force, Chelsea is in school in the US, and Andrew, Kirsten and I are working as Christian missionaries in Colombia.

We found out Andy was being deployed in Nov. 2006.  By chance I found the internet site of El Camino Academy and saw they needed high school math teachers for the upcoming school year.  After much discussion and prayer, I decided to bring my two younger teens here to Bogota for the year that Dad would be gone.

El Camino Academy (www.elcaminoacademy.com ) is a k-12 school in north Bogota serving Christ through educating the children of missionaries working in Colombia, as well as colombian nationals desiring a bilingual education.  I will be teaching geometry, adv. algebra 2, precalculus, calculus, and advanced Physics.  My children will be attending school as a 9th and 11th grader.

This blog is about our experiences living apart from Dad, in a foriegn country for a school year.
